![]() ![]() Freedom Planet was developed in Denmark and the United States, with its art direction carrying East Asian influences, such as medieval Chinese art inspiring its background visuals. Further changes were suggested by fans and incorporated throughout development. ![]() Sash Lilac, originally a hedgehog, became a dragon antagonist Doctor Eggman was replaced by Lord Brevon with his eyebrows resembling Doctor Eggman's mustache and the Sonic series' ring-based health system was abandoned. Early into development, she lost interest in creating a derivative work and reconceived the project as her own intellectual property. While the game focuses on fast-paced platforming, its levels are interspersed with slower action scenes.ĭiDuro first began developing Freedom Planet as a Sonic the Hedgehog fangame using characters created by DeviantArt user Ziyo Ling for its main cast. Aided by a duck-like alien named Torque, the girls attempt to defeat the evil Lord Brevon, who plans to steal the Kingdom Stone and conquer the galaxy. The player controls one of three anthropomorphic animal protagonists: the dragon girl Lilac, the wildcat Carol, or the basset hound Milla. Our developer has to choose between working on the game or making updates, we prefer each developer focus on their games, which is why they have a part timer on here answering your questions at 2 AM.Freedom Planet is a 2014 platform game developed and published by American video game designer Sabrina DiDuro, for her studio GalaxyTrail. We regularly update on Twitter with screenshots and tidbits about what's being done. I'm sorry we've made you unenthused for the game, but we aren't a big company with some dedicated hype staff, just a group of individual developers working together to get our games out at a reasonable pace and in the best quality possible. We're simply not making that mistake, and won't no matter how many threats, negative comments, or please will be tossed towards us to deviate from that path. Since we're focusing on quality instead of rushing the game out, that means if we promised you a finished game in 2 weeks, then found 4 weeks worth of bugs, we'd have to say we lied and delay the game. We simply refuse to make a promise we can't 100% keep until we 100% know we can keep it. ![]() Frankly, I find that word an excellent way to put more people on edge and feel like the game is never going to come, when reality is we're already in QA with a good deal of the game. Undetermined would mean we have no idea where we are. Games that could have been legendary in their time failed utterly time and time again because some person somewhere decided that the game had to be released that holiday, instead of any reasonable window when it could be finished complete and worth playing. "When It's Done" is actually a very old saying first coined by Blizzard Entertainment to show a value of making a complete, quality release over rushing to certain release window. "Undetermined" is a much better way to say there is no confirmed date at this time.
